CONCERNING JOY

THE BIBLE SAYS

·         Ezra 3:12-13                   But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: 13So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

 

·         Nehemiah 8:10                          Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

 

·         Psalm 5:11                     But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

 

·         Isaiah 51:11                    Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

 

·         Habakkuk 3:17-18        Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

 

·         John 15:11                     These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 

 

·         Romans 14:17               For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

 

·         Galatians 5:22               But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

 

·         Philippians 4:4              Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

 

·         1 Peter 1:6-8                   Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:       (See James 1:2)
